Boy, or girl?

So as I'm sitting in the DMV about to re-register to get ANOTHER license, because they never sent me the one I registered for 6 months ago, and about 30 minutes go by this nice lady with her two little boys comes in. So cute. They were probably 2 years apart in age. One was, I would say 6 and the other 4. I wanted to just run around and play with them! Wrestle and fight and yell and be 6 again! I think that's definitely why I want twin boys... girls are too much work. Granted when I was 6 all I wanted to do was play with Barbies, but I also wanted to pay with G.I Joe's and Hot Wheels and build cool stuff. I was a tom-boy who liked to look pretty too... A little contradictory? I know... Anyway. I won't be having these twins for some time now, I'm thinking 10 years, but I really hope it happens...

SPEAKING OF TWINS, this couple came into Shubert's last night with two baby girls, not even a year old, and they were twins. So cute... Okay, enough baby talk.

I legitimately love working at Shubert's. This is no joke or ploy. I may hate the process of going to work, getting ready and all that jazz only because it's so tedious, but when I'm there I love it. It's just so much fun... I think I would hate my job if I had to work at, say, Taco Bell. It's just not the same. There are these people that come in almost everyday, and you get to know them and their names and their stories. For instance; Roger. Roger comes in almost every night, sometimes twice a day, for 3 scoops of chocolate chip ice cream in a bowl. He always pays with a 5 and he always leaves the quarter for us poor college students. He is one of the sweetest, kindest people I have ever met. There was a while there when he couldn't come in because his doctor said he was on the verge of Diabetes (from our ice cream? NO!) and we all missed him... And then he showed his sweet face again and all was right in the world :)

I guess I just love interacting with people, and when they choose to interact with me as well. We do get those people who come in and expect the world though. Sorry buddy, but we only have candy and ice cream. One thing I LOVE is when people try to tell me a flavor doesn't taste right, because I don't spend my day tasting every flavor making sure it is a decadent and creamy as I last remember (I really do... Tough life, huh?). Yesterday a woman got a scoop of Almond Fudge (possibly the most underrated flavor on the menu because of it's creamy, fudgy chocolate and chunks of almond's in it. Delicious) on a regular cone, took one lick and practically handed it back in Jessica's hand, saying "Are you sure this is Almond Fudge?" *insert low chuckle* "yes ma'am, it is Almond Fudge." "It doesn't taste like it" And so I go to try it. I forgot how much I liked Almond fudge. It was Almond Fudge alright. Long story short, she got a different flavor because that one clearly did not satisfy her needs. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. Here's what get's me; both me and Jessica have worked there for a year and some. Are you really going to fight with me about what a flavor tastes like? Are you sure you want to get into this battle right now? Because I'm pretty sure I can make Pink Champagne sound like heaven and make you want 3 scoops of it without even tasting it... Yeah that's what I thought... I realize you don't know how long we have worked here, but just trust us when we scoop you your ice cream. We are not out to get you if you don't like the flavor. You simply don't like it, and that's OKAY.

I was just told by a sweet old lady in T Bar "You're a nice looking young lady." And then she smiled and waddled out... It's going to be a good day...

Stay cool out there, and go get yourself some ice cream! :)
